Key Findings for September 2026
September brought its usual surge in volume and a settled top of the table. 57,297 assessments made it the third-busiest month on record, up +61.4% on August, and the same three values held the same three places. Family stayed #1 for appearance rate at 41.3% (+3.0%) and led the "Top 1" ranking again (13.5%, +5.9%). Love held 2nd (37.1%, +0.9%), but Friendship closed to within three tenths of a point of it in 3rd (36.8%, +5.1%).
The bigger news sat just below. Health slipped one more place to 11th (23.7%, -1.5%), the first month on record in which it finished outside the top ten. Financial stability fell three ranks alongside it to 12th (23.6%, -3.7%), even as its "Top 1" share rose +14.2%. Growth lost ground for a second month running, sliding two ranks to 6th (31.2%, -5.9%) after peaking at 2nd in July. The places they gave up went to the relational cluster that has carried the summer: Loyalty rose to 4th (32.6%, +4.5%, Top 1 +16.4%), Respect to 5th (31.5%, +2.1%), Trust held 7th (+3.7%) and Honesty climbed three ranks into the top ten at 9th (24.5%, +3.3%).
Further down, July's purpose surge kept unwinding, more gently than in August. Inner harmony fell ten ranks to 55th (-12.3%, Top 1 -20.9%), Authenticity dropped four to 21st (-10.1%, Top 1 -17.0%), and Meaningful work (-9.9%), Competence (-9.4%), Contribution (-9.0%), Curiosity (-7.5%), Ethics (-6.1%) and Spirituality (-5.9%) all extended their retreat. Religion gave back part of August's breakout, down three ranks to 27th (15.4%, -3.8%), while still converting appearances into a #1 place more often than any other value (41.7%). Status and achievement kept the momentum they found in August: Wealth climbed four ranks to 30th (14.5%, +9.2%, Top 1 +12.8%), Success held 14th (21.4%, +7.8%), and Popularity (+9.5%), Authority (+6.5%) and Fame (+5.7%) grew again from small bases. Tradition posted the sharpest relative gain of any value (+14.9%), though at 3.9% it still sits last.
Set against September 2025, the month shows how far the year has moved. Family is almost exactly where it was (41.2% then, 41.3% now), so its place at the top owes less to its own rise than to Health halving above it, falling from 1st at 48.1% to 11th at 23.7%. Security (-48.9%), Certainty (-52.5%), Peace (-38.3%) and Financial stability (-37.7%) fell with it, while Friendship went from 9th to 3rd (+34.6%), Loyalty from 10th to 4th (+26.5%) and Growth from 17th to 6th (+56.5%). A year ago the busiest month of the year was led by protection and certainty. This September, it was led by the people closest to us.
